Meanings of noninfectious uveitis in English

Purpose: To describe the risk and risk factors for ocular hypertension (OHT) in adults with noninfectious uveitis.

We conducted a trial to assess the efficacy and safety of adalimumab as a glucocorticoid-sparing agent for the treatment of noninfectious uveitis.

Participants: Patients aged ≥18 years with noninfectious uveitis seen between 1979 and 2007 at 5 tertiary uveitis clinics.

Background: Patients with noninfectious uveitis are at risk for long-term complications of uncontrolled inflammation, as well as for the adverse effects of long-term glucocorticoid therapy.

Conclusions: In this study, adalimumab achieved a quiescent state in most eyes with pediatric noninfectious uveitis for 12 months with a relapse rate of 9.5%.

Purpose: Noninfectious uveitis results in vision loss and ocular complications without adequate treatment.
