Fifteen patients with Neer type II distal clavicle fracture were treated surgically.

Methods: Six matched pairs of cadaveric shoulders underwent distal clavicle resection and CC reconstruction.

The distal clavicle fracture was fixed with K-wires and cerclage and the coracoid process was secured by a screw.

Early recovery to normal life is possible with surgical treatment in patients with distal clavicle fracture combined with coracoid fracture.

Following open distal clavicle excision and reduction of the coracoclavicular interval with screw fixation, radiographic union and excellent clinical outcome were achieved.
