Raw licorice roots represent heterogeneous materials obtained from mainly three Glycyrrhiza species.

This plant, which in some respects resembles certain species of Glycyrrhiza, appears to be not unfrequent in the southern interior.

The leaflets are raised in Sphaerophysa salsola, Colutea arborea, and Astragalus uliginosus, but are depressed, according to Linnaeus, in Glycyrrhiza.

The developed chemometric models enable the identification and classification of Glycyrrhiza species according to their composition in major Fs, Cs, and species specific phenolic compounds.

We found this day, near the river bed, a new herbaceous indigo with white flowers and pods like those of the prickly liquorice (Glycyrrhiza echinata).
