PTBD was the only independent factor predictive of peritoneal seeding.

Patients with peritoneal seeding or distant metastasis were excluded.

The patterns of this involvement are: infiltration from affected retroperitoneal lymph nodes or, less frequently, by peritoneal seeding and direct hematogenous spread.

At 74 months after surgery, the patient was hospitalized for a hematochezia, and local recurrence at the excision site and peritoneal seeding nodules were identified.

Local progression was observed in 9, peritoneal seeding in 7 and distant metastasis (mostly liver and lung) in 8 patients.

The results showed that the rate of spontaneous metastasis to the liver and lung and peritoneal seeding was 100, 100, and 90%, respectively.
