For security reasons, Amanda was designed to allow only the root user to restore data.

These entries tell the Amanda server to allow the root user on each client to run restores.

As before, open a terminal window and switch to the root user, then mount your NFS directory:

The above case is a little confusing because there's a group called root in addition to the root user.

Notice the root group (the only member of this group is the root user), and the group that corresponds to your username.

But however unhappy these restrictions make root users, it may be the cost of doing business.
