1 Hydrochloric acid, whether dilute or concentrated, is without action on alkanet violet.
2 Among them are aniline violet, iodine violet, madder, alkanet , orchil and logwood.
3 Both the above articles are sold either white or colored with alkanet root.
4 The first group comprises madder, cochineal, orchil, alkanet , and murexide.
