It is also known as phenylamine or amido-benzole, or commercially as aniline oil.

Commercial aniline oil is not, as we have seen, the purest form of rectified aniline.

The aniline salt is dissolved in as little hot water as possible and neutralised with a small amount of aniline oil (10 lb.).
