First Software is a supplier of applications software to the UK government and also has a presence in Australia, Hong Kong and Canada.

The contract also enabled Dun and Bradstreet to make the leap from being a somewhat passe mainframe-based fuddy-duddy to being a state-of-the-art applications software company.
