The lower part is panelled, each panel having two heads carved in bas-relief.

Further examination showed that this block was most beautifully carved in bas-relief, apparently with a design of leaves and flowers.

A portrait carved in bas-relief, upon one of the slabs, told me, without the inscription, that one whom I had known was buried beneath.
