Disease and malnutrition haunted the crumbling tenements of Glasgow's inner city.

Narrow streets and crumbling tenements, smashed windows and kicked-in doors.

But, close to them, were the crumbling tenements and sheds where some of the black population lived.

The crumbling tenements of Devil's Acre were gone, glass-fronted condos and shining office towers risen up in their place.
