GM will begin building the Cadillac ELR plug-in electric coupe late this year.

GM previously said it will make the ELR luxury electric coupe next year.

Mitsubishi is considering the production of a plug-in, range-extender hybrid, as well as a small, sporty electric coupe.

Since then, the electric coupe has appeared at every major auto show, and taken a lap of LeMans circuit.
