That is because they say, trading is only like usury; and Allah has allowed trading and forbidden usury.

Originally the Samurai were forbidden usury, that is to say, the lending of money at fixed rates of interest.

That is because they say: "Trade is like usury," but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury.

This, for that they say, "Selling is only the like of usury:" and yet God hath allowed selling, and forbidden usury.
