The company said on Sunday it had partially resumed operations at its Chinese plant, which produces almost 15% of global DRAM chips.

There are four big global DRAM players, none Taiwanese: Samsung has nearly one-third of the DRAM market, followed by Hynix, then Elpida and Micron.

Samsung had 32.7 percent of the global DRAM market in the second quarter and Micron owned 12.9 percent, according to data tracker DrameXchange.
