In 1835 he completed his great oratorio of "St. Paul," for Leipsic.

Haydn furnished it out of his chorus of morning stars, and it was christened "Creation," after the name of his great oratorio.

In 1798 he completed his great oratorio of "The Creation," on which he had spent three years of toil, and which embodied his brightest genius.
