Methods: Ninety-nine consecutive patients diagnosed with Grade III or Grade IV internal hemorrhoidal disease were included in the study.

Conclusion: HSH and SH are both safe and effective methods for surgical treatment of Grade III and Grade IV hemorrhoidal disease.
