Meanings of large turbidity in English

A large turbidity current can be hundreds of metres thick, large enough to burst over the deep channel in which it flows.

With a radiocarbon-dated sediment borehole we were able to show that large turbidity current events have been occurring regularly throughout the past 15,000 years.
