Treatment of mandibular fractures should aim to reestablish functional occlusion and mandibular continuity with the least possible risk of adverse sequelae.

Conclusion: This study has demonstrated that a strong relationship exists between deprivation and the incidence of mandibular fractures in our catchment area.
