Intel is building a new fabrication plant in Oregon and upgrading several existing factories to manufacture its next-generation 22-nanometer microprocessors.

Tiong Woon reported increased sales from its heavy lift and haulage business as well as its new fabrication and engineering arm.

Intel, the world's largest chipmaker, said plans call for it to build a new fabrication plant in Oregon and upgrade several existing factories.

The new fabrication facility - Fab 14 - is the company's first 0.25 micron microprocessor production unit in Europe.

Applied Materials said it was tracking 17 new fabrication facilities and expansion projects that represent $60 bln in future equipment spending.
