Gardai said the pensioner was attempting to cross the busy road when she was struck by the truck.

Gardai said the pensioner suffered serious injuries and was rushed to St James's Hospital where died a short time later.

'He was a good-plucked one, the old Lascar!' said the pensioner in his soldierly fashion.

"Follow, sir," said the pensioner, turning to the Warden; "follow, maiden!

"And yonder is the coffer," said the pensioner.

"Poor victim of another's iniquity," said the pensioner.

"He is a jolly boy," said the Pensioner to Paul's mother, as Paul left the room.

"Paul is a rogue," said the Pensioner.

"God bless you, Paul," said the Pensioner.
