Objective: The treatment for a ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm remains controversial.

An 80-year-old male underwent emergent TEVAR due to a ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm accompanying sudden hemoptysis.

Here we report the case of a male with a ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm infected with L. monocytogenes.

Methods: Between 1993 and 1998, we have performed 19 operations for a ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm.

Contrast-enhanced chest computed tomography revealed a saccular aneurysm in the aortic arch with surrounding hematoma; thus, a ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm was suspected.
