Joe Six-pack is complimentary compared to most of the entries, referring to "the ordinary beerdrinking working man".

If ' Joe six-pack' is proud to be compared with Homer I am not willing to accept to be compared to Apu.

The writer claims that some might see the rash of Joes as an effort to appeal to mainstream tastes: Joe Six-Pack, an average Joe.
