Materials and methods: Seven fresh cadaveric knees were used for this study.

Arthroscopic ACL excision was performed on eight matched cadaveric knees.

The mechanical data were compared with immediate postoperative data obtained from 45 reconstructed fresh cadaveric knees.

Nine additional fresh-frozen cadaveric knees (19 total) were dissected for a further anatomical description.

Methods: Kinetics previously derived from an in vivo cohort performing drop landings were reproduced on 45 cadaveric knees via the mechanical impact simulator.
